Summer School

Summer School for students in Kindergarten-Grade 5 begins Tuesday, June 4th, and runs through Friday, June 28th (Monday-Friday) at Sanford Elementary School. Students must be referred by their classroom teacher in order to attend this program. Summer School focuses on reading, math and writing each day. Students in Grades 3-5 will attend from 8:00-11:00 a.m., and Kindergarten-Grade 2 will attend from 12:00-3:00 p.m. No Summer School on June 19th (Juneteenth).

Extended School Year (ESY) is a special education service provided to students who qualify for ESY services through the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process. ESY runs from Tuesday, June 4th through Friday, June 28th (Monday-Friday) at Sanford Elementary School. Students in Grade 3-Grade 12 will attend from 8:00-11:00 a.m., and students in Kindergarten-Grade 2 will attend from 12:00-3:00 p.m. No ESY on June 19th (Juneteenth).

Credit Recovery is required for any student in Grades 6-8 who failed a semester or more of a core class (Reading/English, Math, Science, Social Studies). This program is run through the Montevideo Alternative Learning Center (ALC). This program runs from June 3rd through July 11th (Monday-Thursday each week) from 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. No Credit Recovery on June 19th (Juneteenth) and July 4th (Independence Day).

Interested and eligible students in Grades 5-8 that participated in the Discovery II progam during the school year have the opportunity to attend Summer Discovery with Ms. Marcinkowski. This program meets approximately eight times during the months of June and July.

All students in Grades 5-7 had the opportunity to register for Summer GAMMA Math and/or STEM/Robotics. These programs are held in Willmar with other area school districts.

July 22-August 2, 8:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
