Meet our new teachers! We are happy to introduce Kylee Heurung, Health/Physical Education/DAPE teacher at the Montevideo Middle School and JV assistant volleyball and JH girls' basketball coach. Kylee is from Brainerd, Minnesota and she loves the outdoors. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, traveling, watching movies, playing sports and board games. She graduated from Mayville State University with majors in Health and Physical Education, minors in Developmental Adaptive Physical Education and Coaching. Kylee was drawn to Montevideo's welcoming atmosphere, and she is looking forward to building strong connections and relationships with students, staff and the community. She is excited to begin her teaching and coaching career in Montevideo and help teach students how to live fun, healthy lifestyles. Welcome to our team, Kylee!

Trisha Suchanek will be teaching 2nd grade at Ramsey Elementary School. She attended Bemidji State University and received a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and received her Master's in Education through Walden University with an emphasis on Instruction, Curriculum and Assessment. Trisha taught kindergarten at MACCRAY Public Schools the last five years. She is a Montevideo graduate and is very excited to be a Thunder Hawk again and to be coaching the JV girls' tennis team this fall. Go Hawks!
Trisha and her husband Zach live in Montevideo, and they have two daughters Paisley and Wren. In her free time, Trisha loves to spend time with family, and she enjoys playing tennis, camping, baking and fishing. Trisha looks forward to teaching a new grade level, connecting with her students, gaining new skills as an educator and working with a great team of teachers.

Meet Jenna Williamson! Jenna is our new Early Childhood Special Education teacher at the Hawks Nest Early Childhood Center. She has been teaching ECSE for 13 years. Jenna and her husband Jimmy have been married 12 years and have four daughters. Some of Jenna's hobbies include running, Minnesota sports, and trying to keep up with her girls! She looks forward to working in the same school district that her kids attend, having a shorter drive to work, and coaching Jr. High girls basketball.
The most important thing she would like to accomplish this school year is creating a positive, safe and comfortable learning environment for her young students to arrive at each day. Jenna looks forward to meeting the students and staff, and she is excited for the future of the Montevideo school district.

Meet Huy Tran! Huy joins us as the Grades 5-12 Vocal Instructor. He received a B.A. in Music and Secondary Education from the University of Minnesota-Morris. He completed his student teaching at Morris Area Schools and Willmar Senior High School. Huy enjoys spending time with his partner, friends and his dog named Raven. He also enjoys traveling and learning about space & the universe in his free time.
Huy looks forward to creating connections with students and staff, and he wants to make sure that his students not only have a productive learning experience in class, but also a fun and memorable time. Huy was instantly drawn to Montevideo because he had always heard that Montevideo has an amazing music program with a strong culture and a close and supportive community.

Meet Taylor Knutson! Taylor will be teaching Math at the Montevideo Middle School. She is a 2018 Montevideo grad and a graduate from Augustana University with majors in Mathematics and Secondary Education. This is Taylor's first teaching job, and she is very excited to be back in the Montevideo school district! Taylor enjoys spending time with family, golfing, reading, snowmobiling, listening to country music and watching NCIS. She had a wonderful experience as a student of Montevideo Public Schools and is excited to give back to the school district and community that helped make her who she is.
Taylor looks forward to getting to know all of her students and sharing her love of math with them.

Meet Isaac Schreiner! Isaac will be teaching Social Studies at the Montevideo High School. He received a degree in Social Studies Education at MSUM in 2020 and completed his first year of teaching at Brandon/Evansville High School. Both of Isaac's parents are educators, so he grew up with a front row seat to the education field. Isaac likes to travel and anything to do with the outdoors. He is also an avid Minnesota sports fan!
The most important thing Isaac would like to accomplish this school year is to create a positive, safe and comfortable learning environment for his students. He is looking forward to joining the coaching staff of the Thunder Hawk swimming programs.
