Dr. Jamie Skjeveland, Ed.D. will be the next Superintendent of Montevideo Public Schools!
Prior to becoming the Superintendent of the Montevideo School District on July 1st, 2025, Dr. Skjeveland served as a Superintendent in school districts in Wisconsin and Minnesota for close to 25 years. He is currently the Superintendent for the Crosby-Ironton School District. As Superintendent, he has led numerous school-wide initiatives to increase student academic performance.
Before assuming the role of Superintendent, Dr. Skjeveland has held various positions in public education, including, teacher, assistant principal, and principal, where he spearheaded initiatives that improved student achievement, enhanced teacher development, and strengthened community engagement.
During his tenure in public education, Dr. Skjeveland has led reform efforts in the areas of technology integration, teacher evaluation, and strategic plan accountability. He has been published in the Minnesota School Board Association (MSBA) Journal that outlines budgeting strategies for school districts, and has presented at state conferences on best practices for effective school boards and policy governance.
Dr. Skjeveland has served in a leadership position on the executive board of the Minnesota Association of School Administrators (MASA). He has also served as the Chair of the Infinity Online Consortium in Minnesota, and the Nicolet Distance Education Network in Wisconsin.
Dr. Skjeveland earned a bachelor’s degree in Music Education, from Luther College, a master’s and specialist degree in Educational Administration, from Minnesota State, Mankato, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership, from Taft University.
