Through the partnership of several area school districts and Ridgewater College, 2022-2023 Montevideo High School sophomores and juniors have a tremendous opportunity to take a college class, free to students, from June 6-June 30, 2023.
The summer college credit program provides 2022-2023 sophomore and junior students to take one summer college course and earn college credit from a nationally accredited institution. By taking this course in the summer it allows students to focus on one college level course in a condensed time frame and experience the rigor of college level courses in the safety of an all high school student setting.
Eight (8) Montevideo High School students will be participating in the South Central Collaborative's Summer College program taking one of two courses offered; Personal Finance or College Painting. The 3 credit courses provide not only college credit, but serve as elective credits towards high school graduation requirements.
This program is part of Montevideo Public School's initiative for MHS seniors to graduate with an average of 12 credits per student.
