The School Board of Montevideo Public Schools is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as Superintendent.
The School Board has contracted with the Minnesota School Boards Association (MSBA) to guide and provide assistance throughout the process. A team from the Minnesota School Boards Association’s Executive Search Service has been selected to assist the School Board in securing and screening applicants. The search team will be led by Amy Jordan, MSBA Associate Director of Leadership Development and Executive Search.

Three Semi-Finalists Selected for Montevideo Superintendent Position
The Montevideo Public School Board unanimously selected three semi-finalists to interview for the school district’s superintendent position. The semi-finalists are:
Aimee Fearing, Director of Early Learning and Engagement, Fridley Public Schools, MN
Barry Schmidt, Superintendent, Jackson County Central, MN
Jamie Skjeveland, Superintendent, Crosby-Ironton School District, MN
The semi-finalists were selected from a pool of applicants based on criteria established by the school board, as well as survey input provided by Montevideo staff and members of the public.
The school board has scheduled interviews for the semi-finalists beginning at 12:00 pm on Thursday, January 23, 2025.
All interviews will be held at the Montevideo Middle School Conference Room and are open to the public. To ensure a level playing field for all candidates the interviews will not be livestreamed or recorded.

Salary and Benefits
A competitive compensation and benefits package, with a salary range of $145,000 - $165,000 will be negotiated commensurate with experience and qualifications. Contract length is negotiable as provided in Minnesota statute. Additional benefits available may include health, life, dental, and long-term disability insurance and 403(b) contribution.
